Born and bred in the Faroese capital of Tórshavn, Bárður Johannesen is well-seasoned, both as an award-winning solo artist and musician in various music groups, having gained a rhythmic music school experince in Denmark in 2002. As a multi-instrumentalist, Bárður’s skills cover many styles, which also makes it possible to hire Bárður Johannesen for performance purposes and to collaborate on creative concepts.
Bárður’s musical style is a mixture of pop, jazz and a bit of folk. His debut album Ancient Forgotten Stories, released in 2010, received outstanding reviews. In 2011, Bárður was voted Best Male Danish Artist Of The Year by Chartbase, and he was the winner of the Great Song Contest of Amnesty International with his song Verð fyri øll as well as The Great American Song Contest with the instrumental song Old Legends.
